Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site recognise your browser on later requests, for example to keep you signed in. "Similar technologies" means other browser storage that works in a comparable way, such as local storage and session storage. This policy covers both.

We only set the cookies listed below. All of them are first-party cookies (stored under our own domain), none of them come from an advertiser, and each one is set only after you take the action it relates to.

Strictly necessary cookies are required for a service you have asked for (here, staying signed in to your account) and cannot be switched off while you use that service. Functional cookies remember a choice you made so you do not have to make it again; the Platform works without them.

Besides cookies, the Platform keeps a few short-lived values in your browser's own storage. None of them are used to track you.

• Sign-in (local storage): our sign-in provider, AWS Cognito, keeps your sign-in tokens and which account last signed in under keys starting with "CognitoIdentityServiceProvider", so you stay signed in between visits. They are removed when you sign out.
• Sign-up in progress (session storage): while you create an account we temporarily hold the invitation code you arrived with, the phone number you typed and a reference to the identity document you uploaded, so they survive the redirect back from the sign-in provider. They are removed as soon as your profile is created, or when you close the browser tab.
• Account notices (session storage): if your account has been deactivated, we keep the message shown on the sign-in page until you close the tab.
• Listing draft (local storage): property managers who start the "Add property" form have their answers saved in the browser so they can finish later. The draft is deleted when the listing is published or when you sign out, or you can clear it from your browser settings.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not let third parties place tracking cookies on the Platform. A few services we rely on may still store data in your browser under their own policies when you use the feature they power:

• Mapbox draws the maps on the search and listing pages. When a map loads, your browser fetches map tiles from Mapbox, which receives your IP address, and Mapbox may store an anonymous usage identifier in local storage. See Mapbox's privacy policy.
• Google sign-in: if you choose "Continue with Google," you are sent to Google and then to our sign-in provider (AWS Cognito) to complete the login. Both may set cookies on their own domains during that step. See Google's cookie policy.
• Stripe handles rent payments on its own hosted checkout page, which uses Stripe's cookies for fraud prevention. We do not load Stripe scripts on the Platform itself. See Stripe's cookie policy.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; most browsers also let you clear local and session storage from the same place. If you delete the session cookie you will be signed out, and if you block cookies altogether you will not be able to sign in. Deleting the functional cookies only means the Platform forgets your grid/list and sidebar preferences.

Guidance for common browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

No uniform standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals has been adopted yet, so we do not currently respond to them.

If we add, remove or change a cookie we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Where a change would introduce non-essential cookies that need your consent, we will ask for it before setting them.
